Romeril, Romriell, Romrell Family Reunion Newsletter
June 15, 2007

Dear Romeril (Romriell, Romrell) Family,
The time is drawing near for the Romeril Family Reunion, to be held in Ogden, UT on August 9, 10, & 11th. We will meet at:

Harrisville Stake Center
113 Childs Ave.
Ogden, UT

Some of the information I am including will be repetition for many of you, but we still have a huge list of people we can’t get hold of. Their emails have changed and they have been returned to Gaye or myself, and in some cases the regular letters via US mail have been returned. So, I am asking you to please notify any family and other relatives about the reunion and it activities. I have had a couple of families upset because they were not “invited”. Please tell all the Romeril descendants that they are invited and that we want them to come and meet the rest of their kin.

This is the agenda, once again:

At this point, we would like to know, for food purposes, how many of you are planning to attend the reunion. There will be three meals served—Friday lunch and supper (dinner), and Saturday lunch. We would like to keep the expenses minimal. The lunch meals will be about $5/person and the dinner will be about $8, for which you may purchase meal tickets as you register. We hope to have Subways, with the trimmings, and some Mexican food for the lunches, with a delivered meal from Golden Corral Buffet for the Friday night meal. If you have dietary needs, please let us know.

Anyone who wants to be in the talent show, please contact me. I have been unable to get hold of Sean Steiner, so let me know what you plan to do for the talent show and I will arrange the program. Some of the men would like to have a golf game during the reunion. Is anyone interested in making those arrangements? Please notify me at:
blykins@comcast.net
if you are interested.

We will not be tying quilts this time. Our family project is to clean up the existing headstones on the Romeril graves and have them reset. That has already been taken care of and we will visit that site during the reunion. If you would like to contribute some money toward this, you may do so at the reunion.

We would like each of you to bring a family group sheet or pedigree chart tying you to the original Francois and Mary Billot Romeril family, so we can have them for our records and to know how we all fit together.

Also provide a descredency of your family group, so we may continue the descendency records. This insures the family will not get lost as it grows. There have been many marriages and births in the past the family has not tracked. This may be as important as your ancestry. It may also help link some inqueries I have had of "Romreils" looking for their roots.     Byron

Anyone who would like to help with the reunion in any way, may contact any of the following people:

In advance, I would like to give special thanks to Isabell Stringham for all the leg work she has done toward this reunion; Gaye Griffith for untiring membership records and updating them; and Byron Mills, for keeping the website up to date. Thank you ever so much.

We could still use volunteers at the reunion for clean-up, posting charts, a golf outing, etc. Contact me at the above email, or at (812) 579-5541. The food serving committee may need more help, as well.

We would like to go for dinner after the temple session on Thursday night. Will those planning to attend the temple please let me know if you are interested in doing this? Thanks.

P.S.
I hope I have covered everything. If you know of anyone who has not received a letter about the reunion, please let them know. Or better yet, you tell them about the reunion. We would like as many people as possible to come and enjoy meeting with us. We are descendants of a great heritage and we would like to meet all of you.

Thank you for all you do for us.

Sincerely,
Jarette Lykins,
2007 Reunion Chairman.
